Since 1988 the Annual D.A.R.E. International Training Conference has earned the well-deserved recognition as being a preeminent training activity, providing an outstanding educational experience for professionals dedicated to creating and maintaining safe and healthy school environments. The 2018 conference will be the 31st Annual D.A.R.E. International Training Conference. The 2018 conference will be held July 11 – 13, 2018 (Tuesday – Thursday) in Orlando, Florida.
Each year a national/international search is conducted to identify the most highly qualified experts to present at the annual D.A.R.E. training conference. Presenters/presentations are sought which will provide conference attendees with useful information, innovative, “tried and true,” and which are applicable on professional and personal levels.
D.A.R.E. Conference Attendees
The Annual D.A.R.E. International Conference audience is comprised of law enforcement administrators/officers (D.A.R.E. instructors, school resource officers, GREAT officers) and school staff (administrators, D.A.R.E. educators, classroom educators, school safety personnel). The conference is attended by as many as 600 registrants and their guests. All registrants and guests may attend general/plenary sessions. Conference workshop participation may range from twenty to several hundred attendees.

D.A.R.E. America sponsors the Annual D.A.R.E. International Training Conference. As a not-for-profit organization, D.A.R.E. America is limited as to the amount of support that may be provided to presenters. Honoraria are not provided to presenters. D.A.R.E. America does provide for the travel related expense (airfare/mileage, lodging. and per diem/meals) of presenters. Presenters are supported with required audio/visual equipment, reproduction of handout materials, and an in-class proctor.
Every effort will be extended to accommodate presenter schedules and preferences. Presentations may be scheduled to be repeated and may be scheduled on more than one day. Day, time and frequency of presentations will be mutually agreed upon prior to finalizing the conference workshop schedule. Workshop sessions are approximately two hours in length.

The submission of presentation proposals must include completed Presenter Information, Proposed Presentation Summary, and Presentation Logistical Consideration forms. Forms must be completed either by word processing or typewriter, using 12 pt. font and double-spaced.
Decisions of the D.A.R.E. America Conference Presentation Committee will be announced in February 2018. Notification regarding D.A.R.E. America Conference Presentation Committee decisions will be mailed to all parties having submitted a presentation proposal.
