OFFICIAL RULES 1. Race cars will not be permitted to participate in the show. 2. The government entity sponsoring entry of the vehicle must own, have clear title to the vehicle. 3. The vehicle must be “street legal” and appropriately licensed/registered within the concerned state. 4. A vehicle “loaned” to agency is not eligible for entry. 5. All vehicles entered must be donated, seized or purchased by the concerned sponsoring agency. 6. The name of a company, community group or an individual that donated the vehicle, equipment, or funds may be placed on the vehicle if acknowledged as a “supporter” and not as a sponsor. 7. Each vehicle must have a current letter of approval from D.A.R.E. America in order to be eligible to participate in the show. (A copy of it must be supplied with registration.) 8. Vehicles will enter the exhibit hall on Monday, July 10th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 12:00 p.m. 9. No vehicle shall have more than 1/4th of a tank of fuel upon entering the exhibit hall. 10. Upon entry into the exhibit hall, vehicle fuel caps will be taped closed by car show staff. 11. Plastic shall be placed under each vehicle displayed in the exhibit hall. Plastic material will be provided by car show staff. 12. The owner/driver of the vehicle must stay with the vehicle in the exhibit hall until released by car show staff following confirmation of the vehicle’s compliance with show rules. 13. D.A.R.E. America National Scholarship Award

The D.A.R.E. America Board of Directors is pleased to offer a $20,000 scholarship to recognize academic excellence and reward students who remain true to the goals of the D.A.R.E. program. This scholarship is awarded annually to a qualified 12th grade student to attend the university or college of their choice.  Payment will be made directly to the educational institution over a period of four academic years, not to exceed $5,000 per year. The requirements for eligibility are as follows: Must be a U.S. citizen Must have completed junior year of high school at time of application Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Must not be related to a current D.A.R.E. officer/administrator Must apply only to an accredited institution (4 years) in the U.S. Must lead a lifestyle consistent with the goals and objectives of D.A.R.E. Must be a member of the D.A.R.E. Nominations for the 2017 Daryl F. Gates D.A.R.E. Lifetime Achievement, 2017 D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year, and 2017 D.A.R.E. Educator of the Year Awards

D.A.R.E. America is accepting nominations for the 2017 Daryl F. Gates D.A.R.E. Lifetime Achievement, 2017 D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year, and 2017 D.A.R.E. Educator of the Year Awards.  Recipients of these prestigious awards will be honored during the 30th Annual D.A.R.E. International Training Conference.  The conference is being held in Grapevine, Texas, July 11-13, 2017. Nominees for the awards shall have distinguished themselves in their dedication to D.A.R.E.  Their efforts must demonstrate a commitment to D.A.R.E. beyond the high standards evidenced by others involved in the program. The Lifetime Achievement award is presented in recognition of accomplishments realized over the span of a career. The standard for award of the Officer and Educator of the Year are achievements attained during the past year. Nominations for an award will be accomplished by submission of correspondence to the appropriate D.A.R.E. America Regional Director.  The nomination documentation must clearly articulate all information for a nominee to be considered for selection, as well as identification of the nominating party/entity.  Materials submitted for the nomination will not be returned. The correspondence should be no longer than two pages, single-spaced, 12 pt. type. Additional information may be submitted as attachments to the nomination. The nomination should include the identity of the person to contact regarding selection results. Nominations must be received by D.A.R.E. America Regional Directors on or before Friday, April 14, 2017. Those individuals selected to be honored must be available to attend the 30th Annual D.A.R.E.
